2016 Art as Worship Theme Announcement

2016 Theme
REFLECTION

In the beginning God created (Genesis 1:1). God is creator, God still creates today, and He calls us to be creative. This year we choose the word REFLECTION to serve as a guide through our creative process. Solomon writes in Proverbs 27 —

As water reflects the face,
so one's life reflects the heart.

We honor our creative God with our artistic creations. We invite artists to submit work that contemplates the meanings and resonances of REFLECTION in scripture, in Christian thought, and in human society.

ROCK: the fifth annual Art as Worship exhibition

Our fifth annual Art as Worship: A Gallery Exhibition and Benefit was another wonderful event with 22 works of art and six first-time artists.  The theme was ROCK, which filled our Advent and Christmas seasons with color and texture and sound.  Any inquiries about the artwork may be directed to lettersalot@gmail.com.

As we look back on this past year's exhibit, we also anticipate the 2016 Art as Worship exhibit.  The new theme will be announced soon -- so far they have been ABUNDANCE, PEACE, RENEWAL, LIGHT, AND ROCK!  What will this year's theme inspire in you?
